Mr. Doty, from the committee on incorporations, to whom was recommitted the bill to establish branches of the Bank of Michigan, the Farmers and Mechanics' Bank of Michigan, and the Bank of River Raisin, reported the same with sundry amendments.
Mr. Martin, from the committee on the judiciary, to whom was referred the resolution to inquire into the expediency of asking Congress for an extension of the present session of the Council, made a report declaring it to be inexpedient to memorialize Congress on the subject. The report was laid on the table.
Mr. Martin, from the committee on the judiciary, to whom was referred the resolution to inquire into the expediency of making the law more definite respecting the fees of justices of the peace in criminal cases, made an unfavorable report thereon.

A bill to incorporate the Detroit and Pontiac Rail Road Company.
The bill was read the first time.
Mr. Bacon, from the committee on territorial affairs, to whom was referred, on the 22d instant, the petition of the township board of the township supervisors, in the county of Washtenaw, for a change of the name of said township, made an adverse report thereon; which was concurred in.
Mr. Bacon, from the committee on territorial affairs, to whom was referred the petition for a division of the county of Washtenaw, into two districts for registering deeds, made an unfavorable report thereon; which was concurred in.
On motion of Mr. Farnsworth, the report of the committee on internal improvement against the extension of a road from Fort street in Detroit, to Spring Wells, and his resolution to recommit the said report, with instructions to bring in a bill for laying out and. establishing the road aforesaid, were taken up.
Mr. Martin moved that the resolution be adopted.
Mr. Bacon moved to postpone the further consideration of the subject until the next session. This motion was disagreed to. And on the question "shall the resolution be adopted?" it was decided in the negative, as follows:
