Mr. Bacon moved to fill the blank in the 4th section with the word "three." The motion was disagreed to.

Mr. Britain moved to fill the blank with the words "two and a half." This motion was also disagreed to.

On motion of Mr. Farnsworth, the said blank was filled with the word "two."

Mr. Hascall moved to fill the first blank in the 5th section with the words "three years." The motion was lost.

The blank was then filled with the words "two months."

The second blank in the 5th section was filled with the words "two years."

On motion of Mr. Hascall, the bill was laid on the table.

On motion of Mr. Bacon, the council again resolved itself into a committee of the whole on the bill concerning the Bank of River Raisin; and, after some time spent therein, the committee rose, and Mr. Farnsworth reported that the committee of the whole had had the said bill under consideration, and instructed him to report the same with amendments.

The report of the committee of the whole was agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed and read the third time tomorrow.

The Council adjourned.

Saturday, March 1, 1834.

The president laid before the Council the report of the auditor, of the territory upon the petitions of the district attorney of the second district of Michigan, and of the county clerk of the county of Wayne. Referred to the committee on claims.

Mr. Britain presented a petition from sundry inhabitants of the county of Kalamazoo, praying for the organization of a new township in that county. Referred to the committee on territorial affairs.

Mr. Doty laid on the table the following resolutions:

Resolved, That the Librarian do subscribe on the part of the Council for the following newspapers:

The National Intelligencer,

The Globe,

The New-York Evening Star,

The Albany Argus, and

The National Gazettee.

Resolved, That the Librarian do take the said papers from the post-office, and preserve them in regular files, and do not permit either of the said papers or files to be taken from the library.

Mr. Moran laid on the table the following resolution:

Resolved, That the committee on territorial affairs be instructed to inquire into the expediency of memorializing Congress for an extra session of the Legislative Council, for the purpose of facilitating the necessary measures for the formation of a constitution and state government.
