And the question being taken on the said motion, it was decided in the affirmative, as follows:

So the bill was read the third time and passed.
The Council resolved itself into a committee of the whole on the bill to establish certain territorial roads, and for other purposes; and, after some time spent therein, the committee rose, and reported the bill with amendments.
The amendments being concurred in, except the 15th section, in the following words:
Sec. 15. That Erasmus Winslow, Jacob Beeson and Benjamin Redding, are hereby appointed commissioners to lay out and establish a territorial road, from Niles, in Berrien county, on the most direct and eligible route to the entrance of the river Galain into Lake Michigan, in the county aforesaid.
Mr. Bacon demanded the yeas and nays on the question of concurring with the committee of the whole in adding the said section to the bill; and, being taken, they were as follows:

An act to change the name of the Pontiac Academy;
An act to incorporate the Kalamazoo Mutual Insurance Company;
An act to incorporate the Detroit Co-operative Association.
The president laid before the Council the accounts of Chase and Ballard, and of David Cooper. Referred to the committee on expenditures.
Mr. Durocher presented the claim of Isaac W. Day. Referred to the committee on claims.
