Resolved, That the Secretary of the Council furnish to Sheldon M'Knight, printer to the Council, a copy of the "Explanation of certain Terms made use of in the Laws," revised and publised in the year 1827, with such additions and alterations as he may deem proper; to be printed and appended to the several copies of the pamphlet laws of the present session of the Council.

Mr. Martin, from the committee on the judiciary, to whom was referred the resolution of the 11th instant, in relation to the expediency of increasing the rate of interest on bank loans, and of taxing the discounts of these loans for the benefit of common schools, made an adverse report thereon, which was concurred in.

Mr. Martin, from the committee on the judiciary, to whom was referred the resolution of the 13th instant, instructing the committee to inquire into the expediency of repealing that part of the act to regulate and define the powers of justices of the peace and constables in civil cases, which makes it necessary for the officer, on serving a summons, to deliver a copy to the defendant, made an adverse report thereon, which was concurred in.

The president announced the transmission by him, on the 15th instant, to the Delegate in Congress from this Territory, of the memorial to Congress in relation to the establishment of a military road from Fort Gratiot to the mouth of the Looking Glass river, adopted on the 13th instant.

The bill to create and establish a common school fund; the bill to incorporate the stockholders of the bank of Wiskonsin; the bill to incorporate the bank of Macomb county; and the bill to establish branches of the Bank of Michigan, and the Farmers and Mechanics' Bank of Michigan, were severally read the second time by their titles.

On motion of Mr. Doty, the Council proceeded to the consideration of the resolutions submitted by him yesterday; and the said resolutions, being read, were adopted, as follows:

Resolved by the Legislative Council of the Territory of Michigan, That the Delegate in Congress from this Territory be and he is hereby requested to urge the enactment of a law by Congress establishing a separate territorial government west of Lake Michigan, and a recognition of the line, running west from the most southerly bend of Lake Michigan, as the southern boundary of that territory, established by the fifth of the articles of the ordinance of 1787.

Resolved, That, the president of the Council transmit a copy of the foregoing resolution to the Honorable Lucius Lyon, Delegate in Congress from this Territory.
