I am glad that this time I can send you some intelligence from Armenia, although not all of them are good. For so long we have heard nothing and have often been very concerned about the dear friends out there.
Today I received a letter from Mr. Schuchardt, in which he says that on April 24, missionary von Dobbeler sent him intelligence from Harunje. At the death of Missionary Blank, he was called to Marasch. The other missionaries there and in Harunje are doing well. At the end of May, von Dobbler's and several Marasch sisters would return to Germany. In Harunje, only s. Hedwig Büll will stay and in Marasch a Finnish and a Swiss sister will stay with the Americans to carry on the work in orphanages and schools.
Mr. Schuchardt is concerned about the missionaries in Mesereh; as there have been great turmoil because of soldiers who have robbed and assaulted the population.
It was unsuccessful for sir. von Dobbeler to telegraphically get in touch with Mesereh.
However, a few days ago I heard from Miss Fugl in Copenhagen that in mid-May a card came from Miss Karen Marie Petersen in Mesereh, in which she said that despite everything they were well and that the Lord has provided for them.
But I do not know if the turmoil was before or after she wrote.
They need our intercessory prayer to endure their difficult and dangerous post. The Lord is also this time, as so often before, a wall of fire around his. Zech. 2, 9.
