Queſt. WHAT is the chief and higheſt End of Man ? Anſwer, Man's chief and higheſt end iſ, to glorify God, and fully to enjoy him for ever h. a R. xi. 36. Cor. x. 31. b. P/al. lxxiii, 24, to the end. John xvii, 21, 22, 23 Q. How do it appear that there is a God! 4. The very light of Nature in Man, and the Works of God, declare plainly that there is a God c; but his Word and Spuit only do ſufficiently and effectu- ally reveal him unto Men for their Salvation d. c Rom. i. 19, 20. Pſal. xix. 1, 2, 3. Acts xvii. 23. du Cor. ii. 9, 10, 2 Tim. iti. 15, 16, 17. a. lix. 21. Q. What is the Word of God? 4. The holy Scriptures of the Old and New Te- ſtament are the Word of God , the only Rule of Faith and Obedienceſ. c 2Tim. 6. 2 Pet. i. 19, 20, 21. f Eph. ii. 20. Rev. xxii. i 8, 19.1/4. vill. 20, Luke xvi. 29, 31. Gal. 1.8, 9. 2 Tim. iii, 15, 16. Q. How loth appear that the Scriptures are the Word of God ? A. The Scriptures manifeſt themſelves to be the Word of God by their Majeſty &, and Purity , by the Conſent of all the Parts and the scope of the whole, which in to give all Glory to God k, by their Light and Power to convince and convert Sinner, to comfort and build up Believers unto Salvation 1.
