My riches a's my penny ſee,
and I maun guide it canny O;
Bur wardly gear ne'er troubles me,
my thoughts are a' my Nanny O.

Our auld gudeman delights to view
his ſheep and kyne thrive bonny O;
But I'm as blyth that hauds his plough,
and hae nae care but Nanny O.
Come weel, come wae, I carena by,
I'll tak what Heaven will ſend me O.
Nae ither care in life hae I,
but live and love my Nanny O.

FAIR SUSANNA.

ASK if yon damaſk roſe be ſweet,
that ſcents the ambient air?
Then aſk each ſhepherd that you meet,
if dear Suſanna's fair?

Say, Will the l'ulture quit his prey,
and warble through the grove ?
Bid wanton Linnets quit the ſpray:
then doubt thy Shepherd's-love.

The ſpoils of war let heroes ſhare
let pride and ſplendor ſhine ;
Ye Bards, unenvy'd laurels wear,
be fair Suſanna rains.
