Alderson (Sir) Edward Hall (Knt.), 1800-1. Son of Robt. Alderson, Recorder of Norwich, b. 1787. Caius Coll. Cam. Senior Wrangler, Smith's Prizeman, Chancellor's Medalist. Appointed Justice of the Court of Common Pleas 1830, and Baron of the Exchequer 1834. Knighted on his elevation to the Bench, d. 1857.

Alderson, Robert Jervis Coke, 1816. Brother of the above, .1802. Ex. Coll. Oxf. Rector of S. Matthew's, Ipswich; and afterwards Rector of Wetherden, Suffolk, d. 1868.

Aldrich, John Cobbold, 1821, b. 1807. Linc. Coll. Oxf. Perpet. Curate of St. Lawrence, Ipswich, d. 1874.

Alexander, Henry, 1821. Son of Dr. Alexander, a distinguished oculist, b. 1810. Medical Student; died young.

Alexander, Richard Chandler, 1822. Son of R. H. Alexander, of Corsham, Wilts, b. 1809. Wad. Coll. Ox. M.D., F.R.C.P., an eminent Botanist, changed his name to Prior. J.P. for Somersetshire.

Alexander, Robert (C.B.), 1827. Son of late Robert Alexander, Madras Civil Service, and cousin of late Lord Cranworth, b. 1813. Indian Civil Service. Retired, 1859.
