The Perfons thus feized, periihed com- monly in the Space of feme Hours, of a Night, of a Day, or of two or three at fartheft, as by Faintnefs or Extinction *, fome- times, but more rarely, in convulfive Mo- tions, and a Sort of Trembling * 7 no Erup- tion, Tumour or Spot appearing without. I T is eafy to judge by thefe Accidents, that the Sick of this kind were not in a Con- dition to bear Bleeding • and even fuch, on whom it was tried, died a little while after. Emctich and Catharticks were equally here ufelefs, and often hurtful, m exhaufHng the Patient's Strength, by their fatal over- working.
