Mr. Blyth has described a species of this form under the name of Lagorchestes gymnotus, which he states is nearly allied to L. conspicillatus, and in all probability it is referable to one of the family figured in this work; but as the specimen is in the Museum of the Asiatic Society of Calcutta, it is impossible for me to determine this point.
