Take a stick of wood and split it up, 柴掏一塊破 Ch‘a tó sioh tói p‘wai.

Put two (or a few) sticks of wood in the stove, 柴掏二塊凸火爐禮 Ch‘a tó lang tói t‘u hwí lu lá.

The weather is very cold and a large quantity of wood is consumed, 啫天盡清柴燒的大 Chiă t‘iéng cheng ch‘eng ch‘a sieu tek twai.


5. THE ADJECTIVE , GOOD.

Not good, 伓好 Ng hó. 毛好 Mó hó.

Very good, 頂好 Ting hó. 盡好 Cheng hó.

The first good—the best, 第一好 Tai ek hó.

Beautiful, 生的好 Sang tek hó.

So very good, 只滿好 Chi mang hó.

Tolerably good–does pretty well, 野務好 Yă o hó.

Just right—just the thing, 正正好 Chiăng chiăng hó.

Quite inferior, 毛世乇好 Mó sié nóh hó.

Very pleasant to hear, 野好聽 Yă hó t‘iāng.

Not easy to read—difficult to read, 伓好讀 Ng hó t‘ëk.

Very laughable, 盡去好笑 Cheng k‘ó hó ch‘ieu.

Good-looking. Good weight, over weight, 好看 Hó k‘ang.

Select good ones, 揀好其 Keng hó ki.

Cannot recover—is not yet well, 病賣好 Pang mai hó.

A good (benevolent) heart will have a good reward, 好心務好報 Hó sing o hó pó.

He is very good, kind, polite, etc., 伊做𠆧野好 I chó nëng yă hó.

Extremely good, 好的很 Hó tek, heng (or t‘eng).

6. THE NEGATIVE NG, NOT, PRECEDING CERTAIN ADJECTIVES.

The word ng 伓 a negative particle, which often precedes verbs, is also used before a few simple and verbal adjectives, as ng hó 伓好, not good, ng tioh 伓着 not right, ng tëüng 伓中 not fit, and some others.
