Mr. Vesey's Reports are distinguished for copiousness, and for their extraordinary fidelity and exactness. They are the Corpus of the Law of Chancery, as administered in England, and contain the best Com- mentaries upon the decisions in all preceding Equity Reports. The persons who presided over the Court of Chancery during the time of Vesey's Reports, were all distinguished for their learning, and patient rcr' h, and several of them were as eminent Judges as ever adorned the Bench of any country, or period. Here will be found a large pro- portion of the opinions of Lord Eldon, whose cast of mind never betrayed him into immature and sudden conclusions, and whose invariable habit it was to examine all the authorities that related to a case, before he gave a final judgment.
