POEMS OF JAMES RYDER RANDALL

Dedicated to Mrs. Albert Baldwin

CUTHBERT IN HEAVEN

Beautiful mother
Of a beautiful boy,
Life is Death’s brother.
Weep not for him
Who from the world dim
Rose to the realm of perpetual joy.

Thank God for giving,
Thank Him for taking.
To the Land of the Living
Cuthbert has flown,
By the White Throne,
Where the earth-sleepers in Heaven are waking.
