TUE SECOND EDITION.
Tue indulgent reeeption whieh the Public and the Profession have been pleased to accord to these Memoirs, having already rendered a seeond edition neeessary, the volumes have been enrefully revised. This has enabled me to eorreet some typographieal errors, and su to modify eertain passages, that whilst the narra- tive remains essentially the same, it muy be in some points presented in an improved dress. L have also availed myself of the opportunity of making some additions and eorrections, which, though few, are not unimportant. �
