to the true explanation of the structure of Lysipoma. This genus, belonging to Lobeliacece, is described by M. Kunth as having a single parietal placenta ; it may, however, be regarded as having a septum so closely pressed to the upper side of the capsule as to have no manifest cavity, and con- sequently produces ovnla on the one side only."
