Miss Mouser was a jet black cat,
Her mother's darling child;
A playful kitten, full of fun,
With white face, meek and mild.
To please her pet, mamma resolved
The neighbors to invite
To tea and dancing; and sat down
The needful notes to write.
She sent them out by Puss in Boots,
Who had a postman's place;
He wore a fine new uniform
Of red, trimmed with gold lace.
