The long (50 mm) inlet was designed to prevent incidental contact with the filter surface and, when facing downward, acts to a certain extent as an elutriator, preventing larger particles from reaching the filter surface. Made of conductive plastic and is operated at a flow rate between 0.5 L/min to 16 L/min.
