Who were Cast away in the desert Island of East-Spitzbergen.
THE truth of these adventures is sufficiently authenticated. When these unfortunate sailors first arrived at Archangel, they were examined apart by Mr Klinstadt, Chief Auditor of the Admirality of that city, who minuted down all the particulars, which exactly correspond with each account. Mr Le Roy, Proffessor of History in the Imperial Academy, some time after sent for two of the men, viz. Alexis Himkof, his godson, to Petersburgh, from whose mouths he took the following narrative, which also agreed with Mr Klinstadt’s minutes.
