one's attention is the beauty & variety of its Crustacea?, & here & there on the beach the Testudo veridis [?] is seen sleeping; on wandering along the rocks the rich variety of aquatic birds must satisfy the most zealous ornithologist. On the same piece of rock he may see the pelican, the penguin, the Sula & a[l]batross watching their prey; and in the woods he will find abundance of passeres, Columba & a species of Falo of the most beautifull colour. On advancing a little the remarkable and numerous individuals of the reptilia & insects will please him still more; among grasses of Gossypium, Tournefortia & trees of the most beautifull inflorescence he will find the land tortoise grazing upon the most interesting Graining.
