Recollect being at Col. Fords March 1850, heard a conversation between Ford & Holmes which left the impression on my mind that Holmes was to go where he pleased, but that the children were to be left with Ford, this however is only an impression as I do not recollect the words which passed between them. his wife to work, her to cook and him

brought about the conversation between the parties.
