2. Based on muscular contraction the exercise are called as Isotonic and Isometric Exercise.

ISOMETRIC: In this type of exercise the size of the muscle dose not undergo a change during exercise. There is no limb movements but the muscle develop tension.

ISOTONIC: Isotonic exercise simply means that the size of the muscle changes during exercise and results in limb movements.

3. The exercise based on the load range of movement is known as ISOKINETIC exercise. This type of exercise allow the muscles to work at maximal force throughout the entire range of motion.
