Percival Lowell

MARS HILL

Wood-betony in flower now all over the place. And the house bulbs are in fine show. Lots of sun-flowers in the plain at the bottom of Clark's Gulf, northeast of the house. Snow only in the most sheltered retreats faint and few.

Even the Alp on the peaks is now only patched with what was seven feet deep on the level.
