(c) by inserting, immediately after paragraph 31 of the Second Schedule, the following paragraphs:
“31A. To provide administrative support, including the provision of premises, office supplies and equipment and manpower and premises to the Personal Data Protection Commission in the performance of its functions under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
31B. To perform the functions and duties and exercise the powers of the Administration Body under the Personal Data Protection Act 2012, if so appointed.”.

Savings and transitional provision

68. The Minister may, in relation to any provision of this Act, for a period of 2 years after the date of commencement of that provision, prescribe by regulations published in the Gazette, such provisions of a savings or transitional nature consequent on the enactment of that provision as he considers necessary or expedient.

FIRST SCHEDULE

Sections 2 and 5(2)

CONSTITUTION AND PROCEEDINGS OF PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION COMMISSION

Appointment of Chairman and Deputy Chairman

1.—(1) The Chairman and the Deputy Chairman shall be appointed by the Minister from among the members of the Commission.

(2) The Deputy Chairman may, subject to such directions as may be given by the Chairman, exercise all or any of the powers exercisable by the Chairman under this Act, including the power under section 8(4).

Temporary Chairman or Deputy Chairman

2. The Minister may appoint any member to be a temporary Chairman or temporary Deputy Chairman during the temporary incapacity from illness or otherwise or during the temporary absence from Singapore of the Chairman or the Deputy Chairman, as the case may be.

Revocation of appointment

3. The Minister may revoke the appointment of the Chairman, the Deputy Chairman or any member without assigning any reason.
