TOMPSON (RICH.?), bookseller in London; Bedford Street against the New Exchange. His name occurs on an engraved sheet called the "Fruits of Faith." [B.M., 669, f. 20 (38).]
TOMSON (WILL.), bookseller at [Market] Harborough in Leicestershire, 1655. His name occurs in an advertisement in Mercurius Politicus, February 28th, 1655.
TONGE (JOHN), bookseller (?) in Warrington, Lancashire [c. 1653]. In the Registers of the Parish Church of Warrington is the following entry among the burials:— "1653. May 7 John Tounge, 'the stationer.'" Mr. W. H. Rylands when preparing his notes on Warrington Booksellers and Stationers had no information about him. TOPPYN (LANCELOT), bookseller and haberdasher of London; Little Britain, 1641-6. Smyth in his Obituary (p. 23), records his death on November 17th, 1646. By his will, proved on November 27th, 1646, it appears that his wife Anne was sister to Dixy Page, q.v., and his sister Elizabeth married Cornelius Bee, q.v. [P.C.C. 150, Twisse.]
TOWERS (JOHN), bookseller (?) in London, 1660. His name occurs on the imprint to a broadside entitled Speech spoken to the Lord General Monk at Goldsmiths' Hall, April 10th, 1660. [Lutt. i. 86.]
TREAGLE (GEORGE), bookseller at Taunton, 1646-53. Was possibly a relative of John Treagle, who took up his freedom May 7th, 1627. [Arber, iii. 686.] His name is found on the imprints to the following works: G. Newton's Mans wrath and God's praise, 1646 [E. 344 (6)]; Francis Fullwood's Churches and Ministery of England, 1652 [B.M. 463, h. 4, 2267]; W. Slater's Civil Magistracy by Divine Authority, 1653, an assize sermon preached at Winchester.
TRENCH (DAVID), bookseller in Edinburgh, 1662-71. Named among the debtors in G. Lithgow's inventory, 1662. One of A. Anderson's partners in the privilege and appointment as king's printer, 1671. Died 1671. His widow, Janet Mitchell, married Robert Malloch. [H. G. Aldis, List of Books, p. 122.]
