MEET ME IN HEAVEN.
"Meet me in heaven"—in pensive strain
Fond memory bids me sing again;
Of one, the gentle-souled and fair—
Inspiring theme! This world of care
Were blest, indeed, if more were found
Like her who sleeps 'neath yonder mound;
And who, ere her pure spirit fled—
"Meet me in heaven" calmly said.

"Meet me in heaven" affection's chords
Thrill gently at those tender words;
Soft as the notes of dying swan—
Her face, so bright to look upon
Beamed like an angel's, and we knew
She soon would be an angel too.
To faith and hope new wings were given
When first we heard—"Meet me in heaven."

"Meet me in heaven"—while here we dwell,
What mean these words no tongue can tell.
