Chewing Gum——
Polly White and Susie Hood,
  Were two little girls who never could be good;
One day they got some chewing gum,
  And before they slept we had some fun;
Polly and Susie went off to bed,
  And Polly got the chewing gum stuck on her head:
Such a time as we had fixing up that hair,
  It was just like a rat's nest, I do declare.

Such a time as we did have right then,
  With oil and brush and comb with them;
We had to take the scissors and cut off Polly's locks,
  And we felt like cutting off both their blocks;
We then asked Susie why she put it there,
  Right in among Polly White's hair;
I didn't, I stuck it on the foot of the bed,
  And that's how it got in Polly White's head.
