To Mrs. Wing.
51
Varied gifts of heart and mind,
In its treasured wealth we find.

While we linger,—ere we part,
Let the thought be here exprest,
Thought that dwells in every heart,
Echo finds in every breast,—
Thanks to her who here hath stood,
Earnest, thoughtful, sweet and good,
Crowned us with her womanhood!

(Read at the luncheon of the Brooklyn Woman's Club, April, 1887.)
