With scathéd pine, by light'ning riven,
 And tottering boulder on the cliff,
With glacier wave and avalanche,
 With rill and torrent's strife,

We join to swell the Anthem great,
 The grand "Te Deum" sing—
We praise, we praise Thee, O our God!
 Our Bishop, Priest, and King!
