THE FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL.
I say my name is Johnny Blake,
I'm the new rector's son,
And if you try to bully me,
I'll thrash you every one.

I know my father thinks it's right
To turn the other cheek,
But I'm a different sort of chap;
You'll never find me meek.

I treat my comrades fair and square,
For I believe in God,
But when a fellow's mean to me,
You bet I can strike hard.

But I am not a fighting chap,
I'd rather, far, be friends,
And I'll forgive an enemy,
If he will make amends.

And when a fellow is my friend,
I stick through thick and thin;
As long as he is true to me
I will be true to him.
