ONE YEAR OLD.
So, now he has seen the sun and the moon,
The flower and the falling leaf on the tree
(Ah! the world is a picture that's looked at soon),
Is there anything more to see?

He has learned (let me kiss from his eyes that tear),
As the children tell me, to creep and to fall;—
Then life is a lesson that's taught in a year,
For the Baby knows it all.
