Scene I

The four corners of the earth. The right hand corner back is first visible and reveals Santa Claus with a wireless telephone receiver at his ear. He is the traditional American Santa Claus with white hair and wearing white furs.

Santa Claus.—This is Santa Claus talking. I want to speak with Noel. O, is that you, Noel?

(The right hand corner front becomes visible and reveals Noel,
