PREFACE TO THE NEW LOOMPANICS EDITION
We are proud to present the second Loompanics printing of the legendary underground classic PRINCIPIA DISCORDIA, the bible of Discordianism. Discordianism, based on worship of Eris, the Greek goddess of chaos and confusion, was invented by Kerry Thornley (Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst) and Greg Hill (Malaclypse the Younger).
PRINCIPIA DISCORDIA was written by Hill, and included material by Thornley. This strange and relevant religion has captured the hearts and minds of many people, and Loompanics Unlimited is proud to keep it in print.
For this new printing, we have added a never-before-published Introduction by Robert Anton Wilson, one of Discordianism's greatest prophets, as well as a brand new (never-before-published) Afterword by Greg Hill, the original author. Also included is the never-before-published "Fifth Edition," and a Greg Hill collage (also previously unpublished).
Those interested in learning more about the history and development of this unusual religion are advised to consult Robert Anton Wilson's COSMIC TRIGGER (And/Or Press, Berkeley, 1977).
