Exemptions from the preceding and all other Stamp Duties.

 

Licences to Stipendiary Curates in England, wherein the Annual Amount of the Stipend shall be specked ; and Licences for the Non-residence of Clergymen upon their Livings, where granted on the Ground of House there being no House or no fit of Residence thereon.

 

LICENCE to use and exercise the Calling or Occupation of an Appraiser

 

To be taken out, yearly, by every Person who shall exercise the said Calling or Occupation, or make any Appraisement or Valuation, herein-before charged with a Duty, for or in expectation of any Gain, Fee, or Reward, except licensed Auctioneers.

LICENCE to be taken out, yearly, by any Banker or Bankers, or other Person or Persons who shall issue any Promissory Notes for Money, payable to the Bearer on Demand, and allowed to be reissued

LICENCE to act as a Notary Public.—See Faculty.

MATRICULATION in the Universities.—See Admission.

 

MEMORIAL, to be registered pursuant to any Act of Parliament, made or to be made, for the public registering of Deeds and Conveyances, in England

And for every Piece of Vellum, Parchment, or Paper upon which any such Memorial shall be written, after the first, a further progressive Duty of

MEMORIAL, to be registered or inrolled pursuant to Act of Parliament, of any Deed or Instrument, Deeds or Instruments, whereby any Annuity shall be granted or secured, in England

MORTGAGE, Conditional Surrender by way of Mortgage, Further Charge, Wadset, and Heritable Bond; Disposition, Assignation, or Tack, in Security ; and Eik to Reversion ; of or affecting any Lands, Estate, or Property, real or personal; heritable or moveable, whatsoever;

 

Also any Deed, containing an Obligation to infeft any Person in an Annual Rent, or in Lands or other heritable Subjects in Scotland, tinder a Clause of Reversion, but without any personal Bond or Obligation therein contained, for Payment of the Money or Stock intended to be secured;

 

Also any Conveyance of any Lands, Estate, or Property whatsoever, in trust to be sold or otherwise converted into Money, which shall be intended only as a Security, and shall be redeemable before the Sale or other Disposal thereof, either by express Stipulation or other-
