ITEM ordeignez eft & affentuz qe par force del eftatut fait en le darrein parlement des poifes accordantz a leftandard de lefcheker a eftre euez en chefcune citee burgh & ville deinz le Roialme ne foient les burgeis del burgh de Dorcheftre de- ftourbez de lour droit de ufer lour poifures par xij. Ieuges environ mefme le burgh ufantz toutz foitz tielx poifez come en le dit eftatut fount exprimez et qe null droit ou title de poifure foit accrue a afcuny par force de mefme le darrein eftatut en deftourbaunce del droit des burgeis del burgh de Dorcheftre defuifdit. ITEM come il ad efte dauncien temps ac- cuftumez en toutz les countees dEngleterre qe les formages qe duffent eftre venduz par la wey ferroit poifee par le auncell et pur ceo qe a le darrein parlement tenuz a Weftm' fuift ordeigne qe les ditz auncelles a caufe de la graunde deceite dicelles ferroient deftruitz & autres poifes couch- antz ferroient celle partie ordeinuz et eft ainfi qe les poverez gentz du Roialme fount graunde- ment deceux par les dits poifes couchant a caufe qils neient conifaunce combien des livres le wey de formage tient par les ditz poifez couch- auntz. Et pur ceo au fin qe les ditz poverez gentz ne ferroient en celle partie deceux ficome ils ount eftee depuis le dit darrein parlement or- dine eft par auctorite de ceft parlement qe le pois dun wey dun formage puiffe tenir xxxij. cloves ceftafiavoir chefcun clove vij. li. par les ditz poifes cochantz. " TTEM, Whereas it hath been of old Times ac-8 H. " X cuftomed in all the Counties of England, that all " the Cheefes which ought to be fold by the Wey " fhould be weighed by the Auncel, and becaufe that " at the laft Parliament holden zxIVeJlminfter it was or- " dained, That the faid Auncels, in refpecl of the great " Deceit of the fame, fhould be deftroyed, and other " Weights couching fhould be in this Beh If ordain- " ed; and it is fo, that the poor People of the Realm " be greatly deceived by the faid Weights couching, " for that they know not how many Pounds the "Wey " of Cheefe doth contain by the faiJ Weights couch- " ing." ' (2) And therefore to the Intent that the ' faid poor People fhall not be in thij Behalf deceived, ' as they have been fithence the faid laft Parliament, ' it is ordained by the Authority of this Parliament, ' That the Weight of a Wey of Cheefe may contain ' xxxii.
