And whereas for the further enabling of the faid Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens of An Impofition ' the faid City of London, and their Succeflbrs, to perform and accomplifh the Works in the faid Ail for on Sea-Coals, ' rebuilding the faid City mentioned ; it was thereby enadfed. ' the faid City, and other Ufes and Purpofes in the faid Aft mentioned : (2) But forafmuch as it doth and ' will require far greater Sums of Money to give Satisfaftion for the Giound to be taken and.employed for ' the enlarging of the Streets, by this and the aforefaid Aft appointed to be enlarged, and for publick Mar- ' ket-Places, and other the publick L^fcs and Purpofes in this Aft mentioned, than at the Timie of the paf- ' fing of the faid A61: was or could be forefeen :' -Therefore fqr the further enabling of the faid Mayor, Commonalty and Citizens of the faid City, and their Succeflbrs, to perform the Works in this and the faid Aft for Rebuilding mentioned ; and alfo for the Rebuilding of the refpeftive Parifli Churches by this Aft appointed to be rebuilt : (3) Be it enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That for all Sorts of Coals which : (from and after the firft Day of A4ay one thoufand fix hundred and feventy, and before the twenty-ninth Day of September, which ihall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand fix hundred eighty-feven) fliall be irr-ported and brought into the faid Port of the City of London, or the River ofTlmmes, within the Liberties of the faid City, upon the fame River, there fhall be paid by "way of Impofition thereupon, according to the Rates hereafter mentioned, (that is to fay) for all fuch Coals as fnall be there Imported and brought in from and after the (aid firft Day of Av^jy one thoufand fix hundred feventy, and before the twenty-fourth 19 Car. 2. c. 3. Force, and by Virtue of this prefent Aft fnall and m.ay be exerciied and put in ure, for the collefting and levying the feveral Duties aforefaid, and of either of them refpcftively, according to the Purport and EfFeft of the aforefaid Aft in all and every refpeft, and that for and during all the 7'ime by this h&. limited and appointed for the Payment of the faid Impofitions or either of them rcfpeftively, as if the fame were ex- prefly mentioned in this prefent Aift, with Reference to the faid Impofitions thereby impofed ; (6) all which Monies fo to be received upon Account of the faid refpeftive Impofitions or either of them, fliall from Time to Time be paid into the Receipt of the Chamber of the City of London, and from tlience fhall beifued and paid according to the Direftion and Appointment of this prefent yft, and not otherwife. And the faid Chamber of the City of London fhall ftand and be charged v/ith all the Refidue of the faid Mo- nif s there paid in, which fliall not be ifFued out and paid accordingly. XXXIX. And be it further enafted.
