An Ad for the Exportation of Beer, Ale, Cyder, and Mum. < 'pOR the Advancement of Trade and Encouragement of Tillage and Manufafture of this Realm,* j A* Be it enacted by the King's and Queen's moll excellent Majeflies, by and with the Advice and I Gonfent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in Parliament affembled, and by the Au- thority of the fame, That from and after the twenty-fourth of 'June in the Year of our Lord one thou- ^J^^,'^ ^"[^j^™' fand iix hundred eighty-nine, it fhall and may be lawful for any Perfon in any Sea-port, or upon any na-^,^^^, i- 3j3. vigable River, ta export and fliip off as Merchandize, within any of the ufuaJ and allowed Ports by Law, and at the common Keys for Exportation and Lading on Board of Merchandize, or Keys to be appointed for that Purpofe, and within the ufual Hours of txcife, for Account of himfelf or any other (to be ex- poited into foreign Parts) in the Prefence of a fworn Gager, or other fworn Officer to be appointed by the J"armers, Commiflioners, or Sub-commiffioners of their Majefl-ies Excife, upon Notice thereof to then* given at the Office of Excife, within the Limits whereof the faid Ale, Beer, Cyder, and Mum, Was^ brev/ed or made, of the refpeftive Port or Place whence the fame fhall be (hipped, any Sort of Strong Ale, Strong Beer, Cyder, or Mum, to be fpent beyond the Seas, paying Cuftom for the fame after the Rate '

other Duty whatfoever ; which faid Gager or Officer aforefaid fhall certify the Quantity of the faid- Beer, Ale, Cyder, or Mum fhipped off, to the Commiffioners and Officers of Excife, where the Entry thereof fhall be made, who are hereby required to make Allowance, or repay the Excife of the Beer, Ale, Gydfer^E*""^*^!**' or Mum fo exported, unto the Brewer or Maker thereof, within one Month after fuch Exportation', de- ' j dueling three Pence per Ton for the Charges of their Officers, and no more. I II. And be it further enabled by the Authority aforefaid. Kingdom of England^ Dominion of Wales, or Town of Berwick upon Tweed, he or they fhall forfeit the fame, and fifty Pounds of lawful Money of England more for every Cafk he or they fhall fo unduly land, or put on board any VefTel, to be recovered in any of his Majefty's Courts of Record, by Information^ Bill, or Plaint ; the one Moiety of which Forfeiture fhall be to the Ufe of the King's and Queen's moft excellent Majefties, the other Moiety to the Informer or Profecutor.
