An Act to oblige the Jews to maintain and provide for their Protestant Children.

TO the End that fufficient Maintenance be provided and allowed for the Children of Jewifli Parents,, who fliall turn Proteftants ; Be it enabled by the Qu.een's moft Excellent Majeily, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament af- fcmbled, and by the Authority of the fame, That from and after the twenty-fourth. Day of "June one thoufand feven hundred and two, if any Jewifli Parent, in order to the compelling, of hia or heV Protef- jewiffi Parents tant Child to change his or her Religion, fhall refuie to allow fuch Child a fitting Maintenance, fuitable to allow their to the Degree and Ability of fuch Parent, and to the Age and Education of fuch Cnild, then (upon Com- Proieftant Chi plaint thereof made to the Lord High Chancellor of England, or Lord Keeper of die Great Seal, or Com- ^" "'"^ miflloners for the Great Seal for the Time being) it fhall and may be lawful for the faid Lord Chancellor, ™i;m«»- Lord Keeper, or Commiffioners, to make fuch Order therein,, for die Maintenance of fuch Proteftaiit Child, as he or they fhall think fit.

That the Trullees therein named,, or any feven or more of ' them, fhould and might, and they are thereby required, after fuch a Time, and. in fuch a Manner as is - ' therein mentioned,, to convey all and every the Reftorics Impropriate, with the Tithes, Oblation?, ' Obventions, Glebes, Advowfons of Vicarages, and other Things thereunto fcyerally and refpeitiveiy ' belont^ing or appertaining, forfeited by reafon of the Rebellion therein mentioned, and therein before- ' vefted in the faid Truflees, to fuch Perlon orPerfons, and their Heirs, as the Bifhop of each refpeftive ' Diocefe, wherein fuch Redlories Impropriate refpeftively are, fliall nominate, in Trufl: for the rebuild- ' ing or repairing Parifh Churches, and for the perpetual Augmentation of fmall Reftories or Vicarages-

' ries Impropriate, Tithes, Oblations, Obventions, Glebes, Advowfons of Vicarages, and other Things ' thereunto feverally and refpeftivcly belonging or appertaining, have been jointly charged or incumbred,. ' or liable to the Payment of fome Debts, Charges, or Incumbrances, together with other Lands, Te- ' nements, or Hereditaments, by the faid Aft vefted in the faid Truftees :' Wherefore for the making the before mentioned Truft more effeftual and beneficial for the pious Ends and Purpofes aforefaid, may it pleafe your moft Excellent Majefty that it may be enafted ; and be it enafted by the Queen's moft Ex- cellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal,, and Com- mons, in this prefent Parliament afTembled^ and by the Authority of the fame.
