' L ^T7 HE REAS by the Third Aft of the fecond Seffion of the laft Parliament held in Scotland, in-

  • VV tituled, Asi for the Security of the Kingdom, divers Provifions were made for fuch Purpofes, and
  • in fuch Manner as is therein contained ; and whereas in the firft Seffion of that Parliament one other
  • Aft pafled, intituled, A£i anent Peace and War; which faid laft mentioned Aft, and alfo the firft herein

' before mentioned Aft, or the greateft Part thereof, are inconfiftent with the Terms of the Articles of

  • Union, and upon the Union became void :' To the end therefore that no Doubt may remain touching

the Continuance of the faid Afts, or either of them, or any Part thereof; may it pleafe your moft Excel- lent Majefty that it may be declared and enafted ; and be it declared and enafted by the Queen's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Corn- Two Scotch mens, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame. That the herein before Afts repealed, mentioned Afts, and each of them, and every Part thereof, fliall from henceforth be adjudged, deemed, ^nd taken to ftand and be abfolutely repealed, and to ceafe and become void. ' L'^TTHEREAS by an Aft of Parliament made in the ninth Year of the Reign of his late Ma- «• 44- ' YV jefty King William the Third, of glorious Memory, intituled. An Act for raifmg a Sum not ' exceeding two Millions, upon a Fund for Payment of Annuities, after the Rate of eight Pounds per Centum ' per Annum, and for fettli7ig the Trade to the Eaft Indies ; it was enafted. That no Company or particu- ' lar Perfon or Perfons who fhould have a Right, in purfuance of the faid Aft, to trade to the Eajl Indies, ' or other the Parts within the Limits of the faid Aft mentioned, fhould be allowed to trade thither, until ' fufficient Security was firft given (which the Commiffioners of the Cuftoms in England, or any three or

  • more of them for the Time being, were thereby authorized and required to take, in the Name and to

' the Ufe of his faid late Majefty, his Heirs and Succeflbrs) That fuch Company or particular Perfons

  • fhould caufe all the Goods, Wares, Merchandizes, and Commodities, which at any Time or Times

' afterwards, during the Continuance of the faid Aft, fhould be laden by or for them, or any of them,

  • or for their or any of their Accounts, in any Ship or Ships whatfoever bound from the Eajl Indies, or
  • • Parts within the Limits mentioned in the faid Aft, fhould be brought (without breaking Bulk) to fome
