That from and after the eleventh Day of y^w Duty on Rock- one thoufand feven hundred and eleven, for and during the Term of tliirty-two Years thence next enfuing, i'^^ caponed to there fhall be paid to her Majefty, her Hdrs and Succeffors, the Sum of nine Shillings for every Tun of Year" fro m'^/^ Rock Salt which fhall be put on board any Ship or Veffel in any Part of Great Brita'ut, and exported to !„„£ 1711, ns. Ireland., or entred out for fuch Exportation, over and above the prefent Duties payable for the fame, and per Ton, made fo in Proportion for every greater or leffer Quantity ; and the fame fhall be paid by the Exporter thereof perpetual by 3 upon Entry out for fuch Exportation, to the proper Officer of the Port where fuch Rock Salt fhall be fo *^- ^:- '^'.^,',^" f' put on board, or entred out, and before any Cocket fliall be allowed or granted for the fame ; and the faid ExporteT&c' ' Officer fhall fign a Certificate or Receipt for fuch Sum of Money as fhall for fuch Quantity of Rock Salt therein fpecified be paid for by fuch Exporter. XLV. And for better fecuring her Majefty's faid Duty lafl mentioned. Be it further enadied by the Drawbacks for Authority aforefaid. That no Drawback fhall be allowed or paid to fuch Exporter or his Affigns, for Du- Ireland, ties formerly granted on Rock Salt, which, from and after the faid eleventh Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and eleven, fhall be landed in Ireland, unlefs fuch Certificate or Receipt herein before men- tioned, for Payment of the Duty hereby granted, fhall be firft produced and delivered up to the proper Officer authorized to pay or allow fuch Drawback ; any AiSt or Aits to the contrary thereof notwith- ftanding. XLVI. Provided always. That in cafe any Ship or Veffel carryingRock Salt to Ireland, fliall either be loft Provifo for Ships at Sea, or taken by the Enemy, uppn due Proof made thereof upon Oath, and producing the Certificate or '"*> ^<^' at Sea. Receipt before mentioned, that the Duty hereby granted on fuch Rock Salt, was aftually paid upon Entry out of the fame in Great Britain, the Officer who figned the faid Certificate or Receipt, and received the faid Money, fhall repay the fame without Fee or Reward. XLVII. And it is hereby alfo enacted. That all the Monies arifing by the fiiid Duties on Rock Salt, Duties on Rock (the neceffary Charges of collecfing and raifing the fame excepted) fhall likewife be brought into the Receipt ?^ '"^ P^'** of the Exchequer, for the Purpofes in this Ad: expreffed. . chequer ^" XLVIII. And to the end all the Revenues, Duties, and Sums of Money by this Aft payable upon Li- See zz'^Jmu flat, cences for Hackney Coaches and Chairs, and the faid new Duties upon ftampt Vellum, Parchment, and2. f. 2. Paper, and upon Cards and Dice, and upon the Exportation of Rock Salt for Ireland, by this hSt granted, Commiffioners, as aforefaid, may be duly and certainly raifed, and the fame (except the neceffary Charges of railing and Officers, &c. managing the fame Duties and otherwife in the Execution of this Aft) maybe juftly and duly brought ^'^'^"'^'"^"^'^ into the laid Receipt of Exchequer, according to the true Meaning hereof; It is hereby further enafted by ^ '° ^' the Authority aforefaid. That, from time to time, during the Continuance of this Aft, there fhall be ap- pointed fuch and fo many CommifTioners and Officers, as fhall be proper and neceffary for managing, ■raifing, coUefting, and paying the faid Revenues, Duties, and Sums of Money laft-mentioned, and hereby granted, as aforei'aid, and for keeping and rendring the Accounts of the fame; and that the refpeftive • , Commiffioners and Officers concerned therein fliall perform their feveral Duties in Relation to the Pre- mifies, as to them refpeft:ively fliall appertain, under fuch and the like. Penalties, Forfeitures and Difabi- lities, for any Offence or Negleft therein, or for detaining, diverting, or mifapplying any Part of the Mo- nies arifing by the faid Rates and Duties, as arc prefcribed, and to be infiifted by virtue of an Aft of Par- liament made and palled in the ninth Year of his late M^ijefty King William ths Third, intituled, A/i g& ro W. 3, yf.!} for raifinq a Si<m not exceeding two Millions, upon a Fund for Payment of jinnuities, after the Rate of eight =■ 4t- Pounds per Centum per Annum, and for fettling the Trade to the Eaft Indies, for the like Offence or Negleft relating to the Ducies thereby granted or referred unto, or for detaining, diverting, or mifapplying any Part of the Monies which were granted or appropriated by the Aft laft-mentioned. XLIX. And be it further enaft?d by the Authority aforefaid. That if any Perfon, who fhall drive a Driver of Coach Coach, or carry a Chair for Hire, not being intereiled himfelf in a Licence fo to do, but fliall aft un- ^°^^°/^'="" der the Licence of another Perfon, as his or her Servant, or otherwife, fliall be guilty of any Mifbehaviour "'B'f°'«'"2os. '1 his Emp'oym.ent, by demanding more than his Fare, or by giving abufive Language, or any other rude ^hiviour, every fuch Perfon lb offending, and being thereof convifted by the Oath of one or more credible W'itnefs or Wjtneftes, either before the major Part of the Commifiioners for granting Licences, according to this Aft, or before any one or more of her Majefty's Juftices of the Peace for the City of London, and Liberty of IVcftwinJler, or Counties of Middle/ex and Surrey (who are hereby impowered to enquire into fuch MiPoehaviour, and to iflue forth their Summons or Warrants, and adminifter Oaths accordingly) fliall forfeit and pay a Sum not exceeding tv/enty Shillings, to be paid to the Poor of the Parifli where fuch Offence fhall be committed; and if any Perfon fo convjfted, as aforefaid, fliall not be able, or refufe to or fenttot!ie pay the faid Sum fo impofed, as aforefaid, he fliall be committed to herivlajefty's Workhoufe of Brideivell, Houfe of Cor- or fome other Houfe of Correftion, there to be kept to hard Labour for the Space of feven Days, and re- reflion for ceive the publick Correftion of the Houfe, before be be difcharged the fame. ^ ^^> '"^' Vol. IV. ■ ■■-•Sff L.
