Oil, Tallow, Pot-afti,' and other Materials aforefaid, which he had taken an Account of at the lail Time he was at fuch Makers' of Sope, and {lull not, upon reafonable Demand, receive Satisfaction what is become of fuch Oil, Tal- low, and other Materials fo miffing, then, and in every Uich Cafe, it {liall and may be lawful for fuch Of- ficer to charge fuch Maker of Sope v/ith fuch Quantity of Sope, as fuch Oil, Tallow, and Materials fo miffing, in his Judgment would reafonable have made, not exceeding fourteen Gallons of fuch Ingredients mixt or unmixt (belides the Lees) for every Barrel of Sope confi{ling of two hundred and fifty-fix Pounds Weight Avcrdupois, and fo in Proportion for a greater or leflTer Quantity, XV". And be it enacted. That if any Maker or Makers of Sope (hall obflrruct or hinder any of the faid O^'ft^uaing df- Officers in the Execution of the Powers and Authorities given to him or them by this Act, for the afcer- ^"^' *°""" taining and fecurin^ the faid Duties upon Sope, the Perfon or Perfons offending therein, {hall, for every fuch Offence, forfeit and lofe the Sum of twenty Pounds. XV^I. And it is hereby further enacted. That no Maker or Makers of Sope, after the faid tenth Day of Makers not to ytine one thoufand feven hundred and twelve, during the Continuance of the faid Duties on Sope, fnall remove Sope "(under Pain of forfeiting the Sum of twcnly Pounds for every OfFence) remove, carry, or fend away, or " "'"'""^ '^"'^ '^"'" i'uiFer to be removed, carried, or fent away any Sope by him, her, or them made, of which no Account officer '"oirPa'.i fhall have been firft taken. by the proper Officer, for the faid Duties, from the Place where the fame Sope of jol.' {liall have been made, without giving to the proper Officer or Officers, within the Limits of the Weekly Bills of Mortality, twenty-four Hours Notice at the leafl,' and to the proper Officer or Officers in other Parts of Great Brifain, two Days Notice at the leaft, of his, her, or their Intentions to remove, carry, or fend away the fame, that fo the faid Officer (without his own wilful Neglect or Default) may have Time to gauge, weigh, or otherv.'ife take an Account thereof. XVII. And for the better afcertaining the faid Duties upon Sope, Be it further enacted by the Autho- Sope not fur- rity aforefaid, That all Makers of Sope, fnall, from time to time, keep all the Sope by them to be made, veyed, to bekept and which (hall not have been furveyed and taken an Account of by the faid Officers for the faid Duties %-"j"^>'"' P^'" on Sope, feparate and apart from ail other their Sope which fnall have been furveyed and taken an Account of by luch Officers, for the Space of twenty-four Hours after the making thereof, within the Limits of the Weekly Bills of Mortality, or for the Space of two Days after the malcing fuch Sope in any other Part <)f Great Britain, unlefs fuch Sope fliall have been fooner furveyed, and taken an Account of by the faid Officers rcfpeflively, on Pairi to forfeit for every fuch OfFence therein the Sum of five Pounds. XVIII. And be it further ena£Ied, That if any of the faid Makers of Sope fhall fraudulently hide or Sope concealed, conceal, or caufe to be hid or concealed, any Sope chargeable by this Aft, or any of the Materials for ma- fo^fi^'ts 20I. king. the fame, to the Intent to deceive her Majefly of the jufl Duties by this AiTt granted, that then,?>" ' '^™' and in every fuch Cafe, the Party fo oitending fhall forfeit the Sum of twenty Pounds for every fuch « 14. it forfeits Offence. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That all Sope, Oil, Tallow, and other so;,e, &c. found Materials for making Sope, which fhall be found in any private Boiling-houfe, Work-houfe, Ware-houfe, in priva'e EoU- , or other Place, and all private Coppers, Kettles, Furnaces, Troughs, and other Veflels, for which no En- 'Eg:houf s, Sfc,' try fhall be made, or Notice given, as aforefaid, fhall be forfeited and -lofl, and the fame, and the Value fo'^^'"^- thereof, fhall and may be feized and recovered by the faid Officer or Officers for the faid Duties upon Sope, to her Majefly's Ufe. , XX. And it is hereby further enadted by the Authority aforefaid. That all the Sope, and all the Mate- All Sope, Ma^ rials and Utenfds for the making of Sope, in the CuHody of any Maker or Makers of Sope, or of any "rials, *c. Perfon or Peifons, to the Ufe of or in 'IVufl: for ftich Maker or Makers of Sope, fhall be liable and fub- '^J'^ieaMe with je£i: to, and are hereby made chargeable with all the Debts and Duties for Sope in Arrear and owing by ^^^ ^^ Aircar fuch Maker or Makers, for any Sope made by him, her, or them, or in his, her, or their Working-houfes or Places aforefaid; and fhall alfo be fubjedl: to all Penalties and Forfeitures incurred by fuch Perfon or Perfons fo ufing fuch Work- houfe or other Place, for any Offence againft this Aft, relating to the faid Duties upon Sope; and that it fhall and may be lawful in all fuch Cafes, to levy Debts and Penalties, and ufe fuch Proceedings as may' lawfully be done by this A61 in relation to Sope, in cafe the Debtor or Of- fender were the true and lawful Owner of the fame, XXI. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid.
