And to the End the Importers of Gold and Silver into the Mints of England and Scotland refpec- e tively, may not be difcouraged by any Deficiency of the Revenue by this Act fettled .for defraying the ' Coinage thereof;' Be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That it fhall and may.be lawful to and for the Commiffioners of the Treafury, or any three or more of them now be ng, or the Lord High Treafurer, or any three or more of the Commiffioners of the Treafury for the Time being, out of the Monies arifing by this Act, or out. of any other the publick Supplies granted or to be granted by Parlia- ment, to fca'ufe fo muctfTMoney to be applied, as fhall be neceflary for defraying the Expences of the faid Mints of Enghnd and Scotland refpectively, by way of Impreft, and upon Account, for that Service, fo as the fame, together with the Coinage-duties arifing by this AiVdo not exceed, in any one Year, the Sum of fifteen thou/and Pounds, and fo as the faid Monies be ifiued out of the Exchequer of Great Britain to the Matter of the Mint in England, and the - General of the Mint in Scotland refp actively, for the faid Purpofes. ' III. And whereas in the Book of Rates annexed to an Act made in the twelfth Year of the Reign of ' King Charles the Second, intituled, A Subfidy granted to the King of Tonnage and Poundage, and other Sums ' of Money payable upon Merchandize exported and imported, a Rate is fixed upon Senna under the Title of ' Drugs, in erder to pay the Duty charged thereon by the faid Act ; which Act has been continued by fe- ' veral fubfequent Acts now in Force : And whereas the faid Duty is by a fubfequent Act increafed, and

thereof for the future, Be it enacted and declared by the Authority aforefaid, That all Senna imported into Great Britain, after the ninth Day of May one thoufand feven hundred and fixteen, fhall be fubject and liable to the Payment of the Duties charged by the laid Act of Tonnage and Poundage, and by the feve- ral Acts for increafing and continuing the fame, and to all and every other the refpective Duties laid, or intended to be laid by other refpective Acts, as if the (aid iixernptions in the feveral Acts for Goods or Drugs ufed in Dying had not been therein inferted ; any Law or Statute to the contrary nbtwithftanding. And whereas, feveral Merchants and other Traders and Dealers in Senna, have, or may have, on ' the ninth Day of May one thoufand feven hundred and fixteen, feveral Stocks or Quantities of Senna :' It is hereby further enacted, That all Merchants, Drugfters, or other Perfons who do fell or retail Senna, having in his, her, or their Cuftody or Poffeffion, or in the Cuftody or PoiTeffion of any other Perfon or Peiibns in Truft for him, her, or them, or for his, her, or their Ufe,. Benefit, or Account, any Stock or Quantity of Senna (fuch Stock or Quantity refpectively exceeding twenty Pounds Weight) within the Re. 1m of Great Britain, being for Sale, fhallvield and pay unto his IViajeity for every Pound of fuch Sen- nv, fo much as will make up the Duties thereof equal to the Duties intended to be payable for Senna by virtue of this Act hereafter to be imported ; which faid Duties fhall be paid within three Months after the faid ninth Day of May one thoufand feven hundred and fixteen. ' V. And to the end the faid Stocks of Senna may be known, and the Duties thereupon duly afcer- 4 tained and fecured :' It is hereby enacted, That all and every the faid. Merchants, Drugfters, and other Perfons felling or retailing Senna, fhall, on or before the twenty-fifth Day of June one thoufand fe- ven hundred and fixteen, make a juft Entry thereof at the Cuftom-houfe neareft the Place where fuch Sen- na doth remain, as aforefaid, and permit the proper Officers of the Cuftoms thereunto to be appointed by the Commiffioners of the Cuftoms, in England and Scotland refpectively, at any Time before tiie twenty- fifth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and fixteen, to. enter into his, her, or their Warehoufes or other Places where fuch Stocks of Senna, exceeding the Quantity of twenty Pounds, as aforefaid, are to be found, and to view, weigh, and take Account of the fame ; and if any fuch Merchant, Drugfter or other Perfon felling or retailing Senna, fhall neglect to make fuch Entry at the Cuftom-houfe within the Time aforefaid, or fhall refufe to permit fuch Officer -or Officers to enter into his, her, or their Ware- houfes, or other Places, (if thereunto required) there to view the faid Stock as aforefaid,_ or any Part thereof,:. or fhall hide, remove, or convey .away the faid Senna with Intent to defraud his Majefty, or fhall not pay fais Majefty's Dues: for the fame, according to the true Intent and Meaning of this Act, then for every or any fuch Offence,: the Merchant, Drugfter, or other Perfon felling or retailing Senna refpective- ly, ' fo offending, fiiall forfeit and lofe the Sum of forty Pounds, to be recovered and 'diftributed in. like ■Manner as-any of the Penalties and Forfeitures for the Non-payment of the Duties v due on the Importa- 4. tion
