' make or caufe Chocolate to be made not for Sale, or to make any Profit thereof, but to be confirmed in ' their own private Families;' For the better Accommodation of fuch Perfons, It is hereby provided and Upon thrte Days enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That from and after the faid twenty-fourth Day of June one thou- mayelve private *" :lnc ' ^ ven hundred and twenty-four, in cafe any fuch Perfon or Perfons fhall be minded to make any , Perfons Permif- Quantity of fuch Chocolate at his, her or their own private Houfe, or any other Place, and fhall give lions to make Notice in Writing, under his, her or their Hand or Hands, of fuch his, her or their Intention to make Chocolate for f uc h Chocolate, to the Officer for the faid Duties hereby fet and impofed, of the Divifion or Place in ynvate Ufe only, which f uc h Chocolate for private Ufe is intended to be made, by the Space of three Days at the leaft, before his, her or their beginning to work or make, or caufing to be begun to be worked or made fuch Chocolate, in which Notice fhall be particularly Specified the 'Weight or Quantity of Cocoa Nuts de- figned to be fo made into Chocolate, the Name or Names of the Perfon or Perfons to be employed in the making or working thereof, and the Houfe or Place where the fame Chocolate is to be fo made; then and in every fuch Cafe fuch Officer or Officers fhall fign or give a Permiffion in Writing, under his or their refpective Hand or Hands, without Fee or Reward, for the making or working fuch Quantity of Chocolate by fuch Perfon or Perfons, and at fuch Place or Places, as fhall be fo notified as aforefaid, and . fuch Houfe or Place fnall not, in refpect of the making fuch Chocolate there, be fubject or liable to be furveyed, vifited or infpected by fuch Officers as aforefaid; any Thing in this Act before contained to the contrary in any wife notwithftanding. ^eDa's^after XXIV. Provided always, and be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That in every fuch Cafe finifting'fuch the Chocolate fo made as aforefaid for private Ufe, the Perfon or Perfons who fhall work or make the Chocolate, it is fame,_ or for whofe Ufe the fame fhall be worked or made, do and fhall, within three Days_ after the not entred, finifhing the working or making the Quantity of Chocolate fo permitted to be made for private Ufe, brought to be make or c^.ufe to be made an Entry on Oath with the proper Officer before directed to take Entries of uTd« a "fd Coffee ' Tea and Chocolate, in the Divifion, DiftricT: or Place, where fuch Chocolate fhall be made as the l'arty P for- aforefaid, of the whole Quantity of Chocolate then made by Virtue of fuch Permit, and fhall bring or • feits the Choco- produce, or caufe to be brought or produced, all fuch Chocolate fo made, ready wrapt up or inclofed, as late, and treble before is directed, to have fuch Mark, Stamp, Impreffion or Device affixed thereon, and at the fame the Value. Time fhall pay, or caufe to be paid, the Duty hereby impofed for the fame Chocolate; and that in De- fault of fuch Entry, Marking Or Stamping, and Payment of fuch Duties as aforefaid, all fuch Choco- late as fhall not be entred, marked or ftamped, or for which fuch Duties fhall not be paid as aforefaid, fhall be forfeited, and the Perfon or Perfons for whom the fame fhall be made, fhall forfeit to his Majefty treble the Value thereof. hundredweight XXV.
