' and apply, or direct and impower the faid Committee to lay out, expend and apply, fuch Surplus of ' the Rents and Profits of the faid refiduary Part of his Real Eftate, and of other the MefTuages, Lands,
- -and other Eftates, to be purchafed as aforefaid, to and for, the Relief of fuch other poor fick Perfons,
- or fuch other proper Objects of Companion, as from Time to Time, to the faid Prefident, Treafurer
' and Governors incorporated as aforefaid, fhould appear moft worthy and deferving of Pity and Relief, ' or for fuch other publick and charitable Ufes and Purpofes, as they fhould think convenient, as in and ' by the faid laft Will and Teftament, Relation being thereunto had, may more fully appear : And ' whereas the faid recited laft Will and Teftament of the faid Thomas Guy, deceafed, hath been fince duly 4 proved in the Prerogative Court of Canterbury, and the A Jminiftration thereof committed on their Ap- ' plication for that Purpofe, under the Seal of that Court, to the faid above named Char/a Joye, John 1 Lade and John Kenrick, Efquires ; and whereas the faid Charity deferveth to be promoted and encouraged, ' and will greatly tend to the Honour and Good of the Publick, and the good and generous Intentions of ' the faid Teftator cannot be fo well and fully effected as by an Act of Parliament ; and therefore for the ' promoting, eftablifhing, making good and effectual the faid pious and charitable Intentions of the faid ' above named Teftator, in his faid laft Will expreffed ;' May it pleafe your moft Excellent Majefty, at the humble Petition of your Majefty's moft dutiful Subjects, the faid Sir Gregory Page, Charles Joye, Wil- liam Clayton, Thomas Hollis, John Kenrick, John Lade, Doctor Richard Mead, Mojes Raper and John Sprint, Executors of the faid above recited laft Will and Teftament of the faid Thomas Guy, deceafed, that it may enacted, &c. PR. " The Governors in Thomas Guy Efquire's Law Will conftituted to be a Body Corporate, and have a " Common Seal, and enabled to hold the Eftate of Thamas Guy, Efquire, for the Ufe of the Hofpital ; " may fue and be fued. There fhall be one Prefident and Treafurer, and twenty-one Committees. The " Prefident and Treafurer to continue till their Deaths or Removals. New ones to be elected by a Ge-
- ' neral Court within 40 Days. The Committees above named to continue till the fecond of November
" next, and for a Year after. Committees to be chofen annually, whereof feven to be new ones. If " any Sale of Lands, &c. be made by the Corporation, the fame to be laid out in fome other Purchafe. " At a full Court new Governors may be elected, but not to exceed fixty. If the Governors " at any Time fhall not amount to forty, the Lord Chancellor, &c; to nominate fit Perfons to make up •' the Number to fifty. They may make By-Laws. Prefident or Treafurer to have Voices at Courts, " and on Equality of Votes, a calling Voice, Phyficians, &c. to be chofen by a General Court. All " the Eftate Real and Perfonal veiled in the Prefident and Governors. The Terms and other Securities " veiled in John Lade, &c. ftill to fubfift in Truft for the Corporation. An Act for repairing Part of the Road from London to Cambridge, beginning at the End of the Parifh of Foulmire in the faid County next to Barley in the County of Hertford, and ending at the Pavement in Trumpington-Jlrect, in the Town of Cambridge. An Act for enlarging the Term granted by an Ait made in the eighth Year of the Reign of her late Ma- jefty Queen Anne, intituled, An A" for repairing and amending the Highways leading from Seven-Oaks to Woods-Gate and Tunbridge- Weils, in the County of Kent; and for explaining and making more ef- fectual the fame Act; and for amending (out of the Tolls and Duties arifing by the faid Act, and this prefent Act) the Highways leading from Woods-Gate aforefaid, to Kippinrs-Crefs in the Parifh of Brenchly, in the faid County of Kent.
