And to the End, Intent and Purpofe, that as wel! all Arrears of Seamens Wages, as their growing granted on ihe Wag=s, may be conftantly, regularly and punctually paid, Be it ena£ted by the Authority aforefaid, That Head of Sea- no t on ]y as t0 f uc h Monies, as have been granted in this Seffion of Parliament for the Service of the Navy beT^/fo'!" 11 k ut a ^ as to *" Supplies, as fhall be hereafter granted in Parliament for thofe Services, fuch Parts or Pro- thofe Services, portions thereof, as fhall be on the Head of Seamens Wages, fhall from time to time be iffued and applied for thofe Services conftantly, regularly and punctually, in manner following; that is to fay, When and fo The Method of f ten as an y f the Ships of his Majefty, his Heirs or Succeffors, fhall have been in Sea Pay fix whole me'n. & ' * *~ Months, to commence or be computed from the firft Day of July one thoufand feven hundred and twenty- eight, or any time after, in cafe fuch Ships fhall then be in any Port of Great Britain, not in order to be dilcharged, or on the Coaft of the fame, the Captain or Commander thereof fhall, immediately after the JT'?^" end of the faid fix Months, make or caufe to be made out Pay Lifts containing the Names of the inferior Tcc"( ar c . i& Officers, and able and ordinary Seamen, belonging to the Ship under his Command, and fhall fend the 36'. 6C«.:. faid Lifts, fo made out, to the Commiflioners of the Navy for the Time being, who are hereby directed i. 35. 8 Geo, and required to caufe immediate Payment to be made of two Months Wages to fuch inferior Officers and 2.. 1;. 2£. 11 a kj e an j ordinary Seamen or to their refpe£tive Attorney or Attorneys duly authorized to receive the fame, 1 "g^'!, 3 "' deducting thereout whatever Money fliall have been paid on account of the faid Wages by way of Advance : 4 Cf 17V 14* And in cafe any of the faid Ships, that fliall have been fix Months in Sea Pay as aforefaid, fhall be then in Geo. a. c. 3S. any Port of Ireland, or abroad in Foreign Parts, the Captain or Commander of fuch Ship fhall, immedi- 17 Geo.z. c. 34. a t e ]y after the end of the faid fix Months, mufter his Crew or Company, and enter the Names of fuch in- lS Co' ' " 3 s' fe" 01 ' Officers and able and ordinary Seamen who fliall defire to have their Wages paid at home in Great " c * *'£ 3 ' Britain, into Pay Lifts as aforefaid, and fliall fend and tranfmit the faid Pay Lilts to the Commiflioners of 24 Gei. 1. r. 47. the Navy for the Time being, who are hereby directed and required, within one Month after they fhall 31 Geo. z. c. 10. have received the faid Pay Lifts, to caufe Payment to be made of two Months Wages, with fuch Deduc- tion as aforefaid, to the Attorney or Attorneys of fuch Perfon.or Perfons duly authorized to receive the fame : And the faid ComrriilKoners are hereby directed and required to give timely Notice in the Gazette of the Time appointed by them for fuch Payment: And when and fo often as any of the faid Ships fhall have been twelve Months in Sea Pay, then other Pay Lifts fliall be made out, fent and tranfmitted, and two Months Wages paid thereon in the Manner aforefaid; and fo from time to time, at the end of every enfuin°- fix Months, fuch Pay Lifts fliall be made out and tranfmitted, and two Months Wages paid thereon as aforefaid, until the faid Ships fhall be finally paid off: And for the Refidue of their Wages, the fame fliall be paid in manner following; that is to fay, as to all fuch of his Majefty 's Ships or Veffels, as fhall return home in order to be laid up, the Wages due to the Officers and Seamen ferving on Board of any fuch Ship or Veffel fhall be entirely paid off within two Months after the Arrival of fuch Ship or Veffel in the Poit where the fame is defigned to be laid up : And as to all othe'r Ships or VeiTels in his Majeffy's Service, the Wages due to the Officers and Seamen fhall be paid as follows; that is to fay, When fuch Ships or Veffels have been eighteen Months in Sea Pay, then the Wages due for the firft twelve Months thereof, deducting thereout whatever Moneys fhall have been before paid by way of Advance or otlierwife, in part or on ac- count of the faid twelve Months Wages, fliall be paid within two Months after or fo foon after as any fuch Ship or Veffel fhall put into any Port of this Realm, where his Majefty's Ships are ufually paid; and fo toties quoties, as often as they fliall have been eighteen Months in Sea Pay, beyond the time to which their. Wages fhall have been cleared, twelve Months Wages more fhall be paid in like manner. siSDays to be- Vll. And it is hereby declared, That the Computation of the faid Months Wages fhall be by reckoning, reckoned tothe twenty-eight Days to the Month, according to the ufual Courfe or Practice of the Navy. " VIII. Provided always, and be it enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all the Monies coming into ClaufeofAp- the Exchequer either by Loans or Exchequer-Bills, upon one Aft of this Seflion of Parliament, intituled, iGBofsTstat. Aln Ail for continuing the Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, in that Part of Great Britain called" 4. c. i. ' England, and for granting to his Majcfly certain Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder and Perry, in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, for the Service of the Tear one thoufand /even hundred and twenty-eight, and for making good the Deficiency of a late Malt Ail, and fo much Money, if any fuch be, of the Duties thereby granted or continued, as fhall arife and remain after all the Loans or Exchequer-Bills made or to be mado- 011 the fame Act, and all the Intereft, Pramium, or Rate and Charges thereon, and the Charges thereby allowable for raifing the faid Duties, fliall be fatisfied, or Money fuflicient fliall be referved to difcharge the fame; and all the Monies coming into the Exchequer either by Loans or Exchequer-Bills, upon one other 1 Geo. s, Stat. Act of this Seffion of Parliament, intituled, An Act for granting an Aid to his Majejly by a Land-Tax to be 2.05. raifed' in Great Britain for the Service of the 'Year one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-eight, and fo much Money, if any fuch be, of the Tax thereby granted, as fliall arife and remain, after all the Loans or Ex- chequer Bills made or to be made on the fame Act, and all the Intereft, Pramium or Rate and Charges thereon, and the Charges thereby allowable for raifing the faid Land-Tax fhall be fatisfied, or Money fuffi-- cient fliall be referved in the Exchequer to difcharge the fame; and the Sum of one million feven hundred and fifty thoufand Pounds to be advanced by the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, for the Purchafe of an Annuity of feventy thoufand Pounds redeemable by Parliament, and charged on certain Im- pofttions or Duties on Coals and Culm by virtue of another Act of this prefent Seffion of Parliament; and all the Monies coming into the Exchequer, either by Loans or Exchequer-Bills upon this Act, and the Sum of fifteen thoufand feven hundred fifty- feven Pounds fifteen Shillings, remaining in the Receipt of his.
