[Geo.. 2. c. 20. ■3 Gee. 2. c. 16. ninety-eight, over and above the Rates and Duties, and Sums of Money then payable to his Majefty or to any Perfon or Perfons, Bodies Politick or Corporate whatfoever, for the fame, the feveral and refpective Rates, Impofitions, Duties, Charges and Sums of Money, therein particularly expreffed ; And whereas in and by one other Act made and paffed in the fame Seffion of Parliament, intituled, An Ail for railing a Sum not exceeding tzvo millions, upon a Fund for Payment of Annuities after the Rate of eight Pounds per Centum per Annum, and for fettling the Trade to the Eaft-Indies, as alfo in and by one other Act made and paffed in the fixth Year of the Reign of her late Majefty Queen Anne, inti- tuled, An Ail for affuring to the Englifh Company trading to the Eaft-Indies, on Account of the united Stock, a longer Time in the Fund and Trade therein mentioned, and for raifing thereby^ the Sum of one million two hun- dred thoufand Pounds, for carrying on the War, and other her Majefty '$ occajions, all the Monies ariling by the faid feveral additional Duties on ftampt Vellum, Parchment and Paper, by the firft recited Act granted for ever, are appropriated with other Duties on Salt and Rock Salt, for the raifing and making good a yearly Fund of one hundred and lixty thoufand Pounds, for and upon the refpective principai Sums of two millions, and one million two hundred thoufand Pounds, advanced and paid in purfuance of the two Acts laft mentioned : And whereas by an Act made and paffed in the third Year of the Reign of his prefent Majefty King George the Second, intituled, An Adi for reducing the Annuity or Fund of the united Eaft-India Company, and for afcertaining their Right of Trade to the Eaft-Indies, and the Continuance of their Corporation for that Purpoje, upon the Terms therein mentioned, it is amongft other Things enacled, That from and after the twenty-ninth Day of September which ihould be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and thirty, the faid Annuity or yearly Fund of one hundred and iixty thoufand Pounds (hould be and is thereby reduced to an Annuity or yearly Fund of one hundred and twenty-eight thoufand Pounds, in refpect of the faid Capital Stock or Debt of three mil- lions two hundred thoufand Pounds, and that the faid reduced Annuity fhould be and remain charged upon, and be payable from Time to Time out of the fame Duties and Revenues, and by the like weekly or quarterly Payments, and with the fame Provifions for making good any Deficiencies from Time to Time in the faid reduced Fund, until fome new or other Provifion be made by Parliament, with Confent of the faid United Company for the fame : And whereas by another Act made and paffed in the third Year of his faid Majefty 's Reign, intituled, An Adz for taking off certain Duties on Salt, and for making good any Deficiencies in the Funds that may happen thereby, and jor charging the reduced Annuity payable to the Eaft-India Company on the Aggregate Fund, and for Relief of Matthew Lyon, Executor of Matthew Page deceafed, in refpedi of the Duty for Salt loft by the overflowing of the River Mercy in the Tear one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-four, it is amongft other things enacted, That from and after the twenty-ninth Day of September one thoufand feven hundred and thirty, the reduced Annuity of one hundred and twenty-eight thoufand Pounds, payable to the United Company of Merchants of England trading to the Eaft-Indies, (hould be transferred from the feveral Duties and Revenues then before charged with the faid Annuity or. yearly Fund of one hundred and fixty thoufand Pounds, and be charged upon and payable out of the Monies arifen or to arife into the Exchequer from Time to Time, for the feveral Duties and Revenues compollng the Aggregate Fund, to be paid to the faid Company and their Succeffors, by fuch and the like quarterly Payments, as their then prefent Annuity was pay- able, and from and after filch Time as the faid reduced Annuity or yearly Fund of one hundred and twenty-eight thoufand Pounds Ihould become charged on the faid Aggregate Fund, the faid additional Duties on ftampt Vellum, Parchment and Paper ihould from thenceforth be difcharged from the faid reduced Annuity or yearly Fund, and be deemed a Saving to the Publick, and fhould go and be ap- plied to fuch Ufes and Purpofes as fhould be directed by Parliament ; and whereas by another A£t made and paffed in the third Year of his faid Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ac! for raifmg five hundred - , fifty thoufand '-Pounds by Exchequer Bills, towards the Supply granted to his Majefty, arid jor the further Ap- plication of the Produce of the Sinking Fund, for applying the Arrears of former Land Taxes, for appropriat- ing the Supplies granted in this Scjjion of Parliament, and for giving Relief with Relpecl to an Cvcr-payment to the Land Tax for the Year one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-one, by the Receiver General for t e County of Salop, it was amongft other Things enacted, That the Exchequer Bifs which were ir,3de forth in Purfuance of the faid laft mentioned Act, and the Intereft, Premium, Rate and Charges inci- dent to or attending the fame, (hould be charged and chargeable upon the firft Aids or Supplies which (hould be granted in Parliament next after the twenty-ninth Day of September one thoufand feven hun- dred and thirty ; and in the mean Time, and until fuch Supplies fhould be granted, "the fame Ihould be and are thereby charged and chargeable on fuch Surplus Monies, as at any Time or Times from and after the twenty-fifth Day of March one thoufand feven hundred and thirty, (hould arife into the Exchequer from the feveral Duties and Revenues then charged with the Annuity or yearly Fund of one hundred and fixty thoufand Pounds, and (hould be more than furhcient to pay and fatisfy the quar- terly Payments or Arrears of the faid Annuity or yearly Fund, or which Ihould thereafter arife by the faid Duties and Revenues, by the Reduction made in the faid Annuity or yearly Fund, fhould be quar- terly applied towards the defraying and paying the Premium, Intereft and Charges attending the faid Exchequer Bills, and fubjeet thereto, towards cancelling and difcharging the Principal of the faid Ex- chequer Bills in courfe, ?nd fubjeet thereto, the faid Surplus Monies Ihould be referved for the future Difpofition of Parliament : And whereas all the Exchequer Bills made forth in Purfuance of the laft recited Act, which remained uncancelled and undifcharged, with all Premiums, Rates, Intereft and other Charges attending thereon, have been or are intended to be fully paid off", fatisned and difcharg- ed, by and out of the Aids or Supplies granted or to be granted to his Majefty for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and thirty-one, by Means whereof the laid additional Duties on ftamped Vellum^ Parchment and Paper are treed and difcharged from all Incumbrances whatfoever; ' and
