future, Be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Autho- A Claufe therein rity of the fame, That the faid Claufe or Provifo herein before fet forth and recited, fhall from and after repealed. t ne twenty-ninth Day of September, which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand feven hundred and forty-five, and the fame is hereby enacted and declared to be from thenceforth repealed. 2 W. And whereas in and by an Aft made in the fecond Year of the Reign of their faid late Majefties, e. i, §. 10. « ; t j s (amongft other Things) enacted, That from and after the fifteenth Day of December, the Wheels ' of every Cart, Car, or Dray, to be ufed for the Carriage of any Thing whatfoever, from any Place ' within the Cities and Parifhes therein mentioned, to any Place fituate in the faid Cities and Parifbes ' where the Streets are paved, fhall be made to contain the Breadth of fix Inches in the Felly, and fh.ul ' not be wrought about with any Iron Work whatfoever, nor be drawn with above the Number of two ' Horfes, after they are up the Hills from the Water Side, under the Penalties in the faid Act contained : ' And whereas the fame, fo far as it relates to the drawing fuch Cart, Car, or Dray, with two Horfes Carts, &c. drawn c only, hath been found inconvenient ;' Be it therefore enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That from ipay be'ufed.' Penalty of ufing HI. Provided always, and it is hereby further enafted, That in cafe any Perfon or Perfons fhall, after Carts, &c. drawn ^g ^jj twenty-ninth Day of Septetnber one thoufand feven hundred and forty-five, make ufe of any fuch three°Horfo n Cart, Car, or Dray, drawn by more than three Horfes, as aforefaid, every fuch Perfon or Perfons fhall be liable and fubjeft to all and every the Penalties by the faid Aft direfted to be inflifted upon any Perfon or Perfons ufing any Car, Cart, or Dray, drawn with more than two Horfes ; any Thing in the faid Aft to the contrary thereof in any wife notwithftanding. ' IV. And whereas great Inconveniencies have arifen from the irregular Behaviour of Carmen, Dray- ' men, and other Perfons driving Carts, Drays, and other Carriages, within the Cities of London and ' JVejiminJler , and Suburbs thereof, the Borough of Southivark, and other Streets within the Bills of ' Mortality, by their mi'fufing and hindering the Pafl'age of his Majefty's Subjefts through the faid Streets Name of the ' anc l Highways, and committing other Diforders of the like Kind :' For Remedy whereof, Be it enafted Owner of every by the Authority aforefaid, That from and after the faid twenty-ninth Day of September, no Perfon or Cart, 10 be Perfons whatfoever fhall drive any Cart, Car, or Dray, of any Kind whatfoever within the Limits afore- placed thereon, f a jj ? unlefs the Mailer or Owner of fuch Cart, Car, or Dray, fhafl place upon fome confpicuous Part "^ of fuch Cart, Car, or Dray, the Name of the Owner of fuch Cart, Car, or Dray, and the Number of amtna"d h ^ ucn Cart, Car, or Dray fo belonging to him, in order that the Driver of fuch Cart, Car, or Dray, may 30 Geo. z. c. 22, be the more eafily convifted for any Diforder or Misbehaviour committed by him as aforefaid. and regiftered V. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That every Owner of fuch Cart, Car, or with the Com- Dray, refiding within the Limits aforefaid, fhall enter his Name and Place of Abode, with the Commif- miffioners for fi 0ners for licenfing Hackney Coaches, for which Entry he fhall pay the Sum of one Shilling, and no Coaches! more ; and the faid Commiffioners are hereby authorized and required to receive and regifter fuch Entry as aforefaid. Under Penalty VI. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid, That in cafe any Perfon or Perfons fhall ef 40 a. drive any fuch Cart, Car, or Dray, within the Limits aforefaid, not marked, numbered and entered, as is herein before direfted, every fuch Perfon fo offending fhall forfeit and lofe the Sum of forty Shillings; and it fhall and may be lawful for any Perfon or Perfons to feize and detain the Cart, Car, or Dray, or any of the Horfes drawing the fame, and them to detain till fuch Penalty fhall be paid. Cart Wheels VII. Provided always, and it is hereby enafted, That it fhall and may be lawful to and for any Perfon ma; be bound or p e rfons ufing any Cart, Car, or Dray as aforefaid, .having the Wheels of the full Breadth of fix T% ^brrad* I ncries ? when worn, to have the fame bound round with Streaks or Tire of Iron, provided fuch Streaks without rofe-' or Tire of Iron be of the full Breadth of fix Inches, and made flat, and not fet on with rofe-headed headed Nails.
