And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon or Perfons (hall, from and brick 10 forfeit after the faid twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and forty-eight, vend, utter, fell, 5 1, or expofe to Sale any Cambricks or French Lawns, made or not made up, fuch Perfon or Perfons fo vending, uttering, felling, or expofihg the fame to Sale (except for Exportation only) and fhall thereof be convicted, fhall forfeit and pay the Sum of five Pounds, to be recovered and levied as aforefaid. The Perfon m. Provided always, and it is hereby declared, That if any Perfon or Perfons fhall, from and after r^k"!"? over- the ^'^ twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and forty-eight, be profecuted by inc the Seller, l ^ s Act for wearing in or on any Garment or Apparel, any Cambricks or French Lawns, and fuch Per- fiiaii be uif- fon or Perfons fhall difcover upon Oath, before any one or more Juftice or Juftices of the Peace, the ibarged. * Perfon or Perfons who fold fuch Cambricks or French Lawns, to fuch Perfon or Perfons fo wearing the fame, fuch Perfon or Perfons fo difcovering as aforefaid fhall be, and is and are hereby freed and difcharged of and from all and every fuch Penalties and Forfeitures as aforefaid, for wearing fuch Cambricks or French Lawns; and the Perfon and Perfons fo felling fuch Cambricks or French Lawns, to fuch Perfon or Perfons as fhall wear the fame, fhall be liable to the Penalties and Forfeitures herein before laid and inflicted; and the fame fhall be recovered and levied, and difpofed of in fuch Manner as the Penalties and Forfeitures which are inflicted by this Act, for wearing of Cambricks or French Lawns. No Cambricks, IV. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That from and after the firft Day of Augujl Cambricks to be one thoufand feven hundred and forty-five, it fhall not be lawful for any Perfon or Perfons whatfoever, imported, tQ j m po r t or enter into any Port of Great Britain any foreign Cambricks or French Lawns, unlefs Bills of Loading be produced for the fame, or fuch other Proof or Evidence be given to the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Cuftoms, or to the Chief Officer or Officers of the Cuftoms at the Port of Importation, as they fhall think fufficient or require, that the faid Cambricks or French Lawns were really and bona fide fhipped for direct Importation into Great Britain, on or before the faid firft Day of Augiift one thoufand feven hundred and forty-five. Conditions on VI. Security ^ the Chief Officer or Officers thereof, at the Port of Importation, for the Ufe of his Majefty, his Heirs liailVe exported an d SuccelTors, in double the Value of the Goods fo imported, fuch Value to be afcertained by the Oath jn three Years, or Affirmation of the Importer as aforefaid; and which Bonds Oaths, and Affirmations refpectively, the proper Officers are hereby authorized and required to receive and adminifter, for Payment of the Sum of five Pounds for each and every Piece of fuch Cambricks and French Lawns which fhall not be exported out of this Kingdom, within the Term of three Years, after the Entry of the fame; any thing to the contrary in this prefent Act in any wife notwithftanding.
