A. D. 1756. Anno vicelimo nono Georgii II. C. 14. .661 CAP. XIV. An Afl for granting to his Majefty feveral Rates and Duties payable by all Perfons, and Bodies Politick or Corporate, having certain Qiiantities of Silver Plate, Moji Gracious Sovereign, WHEREAS by an Adl made in this Seffion of Parliament, intituled, An A SI for granting /.j ig Geo. i. c. 7. his Majejly the Sum of two MilUcns, to be raifed by way of Annuities and a Lottery, and charged on the Sinking Fund, redeemable by Parliament ; and for extending to Ireland the Laws made in this Kingdom againfi private and unlawful Lotteries ; the Intereft of fifteen hundred thoufand Pounds, Part ot the Sum of two Millions advanced on the Credit of the faid A6t, after the Rate of three Pounds ten Shil- lings per Centum per Annum, and the Intereil: of five hundred thoufand Pounds, Refidue of the faid Sum of two Millions, after the Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, are charged upon ihe Fund commonly called The Sinking Fund :' We your Majefty's moll dutiful and loyal Subjects the Commons of Great Britain in Parliament affembled, towards making good the faid Intereft of the faid Sum of two Alillions, charged on the faid Fund, have refolved to give and grant unto your Majefty the refpeftive annual Rates and Duties herein after-mentioned, for and upon all Silver Plate in Great Britain, and do therefore moft humbly befeech your Majefty that it may be enaded ; and be it enacted by the King's inoft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and RcfcruizGcn.i, Teinporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, ^ ' That from and after the fifth Day of July, one thoufand feven hundred and fifty-fix, there Ihall be '^"'^"^j duties raifed, levied, collected and paid to and for the Ufe of his Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors, for and v£riJ)a°^"vi2." upon all Silver Plate in Great Britain, the refpeclive amiual Rates and Duties herein after exprelLd ; that is to fay.
