CXXVII1. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all and every the Perfon and Commiffioners Perfons who in and by the faid Act of Parliament made and patted in the fecond Year of his Majefty's ^""^"f^.f Reign, intituled, An ASl for appointing ComniiJJioners for putting in execution an Ail of this Seffton of Parlia- - la sJ&rjanT 1 10 ° thhrif, intituled, An Ait for granting an Aid to his Majefty by a Land Tax, to be raifed in Great Britain, for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-two; and by one other Aft maie and paffed in the third Year of his Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ah for rectifying Mijiakes in the Names of fever al of the Commiffioners, appointed by an Ail made in the loft Seffion of Parliament, to put in execution an Aft made in the fame Seffion, intituled, An Act for granting an Aid to his Majefty by a Land Tax to be railed in Great Britain, for the Service of the Year one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-two; and- for appointing ' , other Commiffioners together with thofe named in the fiifl mefjtioned Ail, to put in execution an AH of this Seffion ■ of Parliament, for granting an Aid to his Majefty by a LandTax, to be raifed in Great Britain, for the Service of the Tear one thoufand feven hundred and Jixty-thrce, or by any or either of thofe Acts, were named, ap- pointed or authorized to be Commiffioners for putting in execution the fame Ads, within the feveral Shires or Stewartries of Scotland, or fuch of them who have qualified, or fhall qualify themfelves according to the Laws of Scotlattd in that Behalf, fhall be Commiffioners for ordering, railing and levying the Supplies in Scotland by this Aft granted, in and for the fame Shires and Stewartries reflectively ; which faid Commif- fioners fhall put in execution this prefent Act, and the Powers therein contained, within and for the fame Shires and Stewartries refpeftively; and the faid Commiffioners have hereby Power' to choofe their own '■ * Clerk, and to do every Thing concerning the faid Supply, as is prefcribed and appointed by the'-Cefs Act of the fixth of November one thoufand fevenhundred and fix, and other Acts made in -any former Parlia- ment of Scotland, to which the faid Act of the fixth of November one thoufand feven hundred arid fix, doth relate, holding the fame as if therein repeated. CXXIX. And it is hereby further enacted, That Execution fhall be done in Scotland for bringing in the And Execution to faid Supply, to be raifed there, asjs provided by the fame Acts in all Points not altered by this Act; and be done as by thf that the firft Meeting of the faid Commiffioners of Shires in Scotland /hall be at the refpective Head Burghs p- 1< ! 1 '^ s ' . . thereof the thirtieth Day of April one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-four ; and that the Sheriffs and h " it th^Hcad* Stewarts, or their Deputies, do intimate the fame to the faid Commiffioners of their Shires and Stewartries ; Burghs on 30 with Power to the faid Commiffioners to appoint the fubfequent Diets of their Meetings, and their Con- April 1764. veners, fromTime to Time ; and alfo to appoint Collectors, with fuch Caution as they fhall think fit. CXXX. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That all Claufes contained in former Act's A " chafes - m of Parliament of Scotland, and Convention of Eftates there, in relation to the bringing in of the Cefs, and j°™ el ' A(Ss re - Qyartering, and touching Riding-money, fhall ftand in full force, as to the Supply now impofed upon bringing"^ the Scotland, as if they were herein expreffed, and as they were obferved before the making this Act. Cefs, &c. to be CXXXI. And it is hereby declared, That no Perfon, whether Heretor or Collector, liable in Payment in fu 'l Force. •of the faid Supply to be raifed in Scotland, fhall be holden to produce the Receipts and Difcharges of the No Perfons in fame, after three Years from the refpective Terms of Payment, unlefs Diligence be done therefore by De- Scotland holden nunciation within the faid three Years ; in which Cafe of Diligence by Denunciation, one Year farther £ pr °i uc !f r is only added to the faid three Years; and none fhall be holden to produce the Receipts or Difcharges Year's^' 1 thereafter.
- CXXXII. And becaufe by the Supply hereby granted to be raifed in Scotland, the' Lands, Rents and Debtor owing
- Burghs there are only burthened, and it being reafonable that the Perfonal Eftates in Money fhall bear Money in Scot-
- fome proportional Burthen ;' Be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That every Debtor owing !? nd at 6 pei '
Money in Scotland, at fix Pounds per Centum Intereft, fhall, in the Payment of his annual Rents,- have gttp.rt of 6pe r Retention in his own Hands of a fixth Part of fix per Centum, and this Retention to be from the eleventh Cent, from i{ Day of November one thoufand feven hundred and fixty-three, to the eleventh Day of November one thou- Nov. 1763,, ton fand feven hundred and fixty-four; and it is hereby declared, that it fhall be Ufury for any Creditor to NoVi J 7 S 4- xefufe to grant the faid Retention there. CXXXIII.
