[Music ]
NOw Cannon smoke clouds all the sky,
And through the gloomy wood;
From ev'ry Trench the bougers fly,
Besmeer'd with dust and Blood:
Whilst valour's palm, is ours in fight,
And Mons to terms we bring;
Let Bragging Boufflers vainly write,
False wonders to the King:
Fate resolves to end the war,
And Lewis like a falling star,
Though late he sate on high,
A meteor of the sky,
Shall from his place remove,
Whilst Europe o'er does rove
With welcome olive branch, the Peaceful Dove.
